Cohabitation Agreement (Ontario)
A cohabitation agreement is a domestic contract for partners who live together but are not married. It can address how property, debts, and financial responsibilities will be handled during the relationship and if the parties separate. It may also include terms dealing with spousal support (where applicable and enforceable).
A cohabitation agreement is commonly used by common-law partners to document expectations and reduce the likelihood of disputes if the relationship ends.
